In a move that’s shaken up the college basketball recruiting landscape, Babatunde “Baba” Oladotun, the consensus No. 1 player in the 2027 high school class, has confirmed that he will reclassify to the 2026 class and graduate in spring 2026

One of the brightest young stars in high school basketball just made a game-changing move.

Baba Oladotun, who was formerly the top-ranked player in the 2027 class, has now reclassified to the 2026 class. In the High Level Top 100 rankings, he makes his debut as the No. 1 player in the nation.

The 6-foot-8 guard/forward from James Hubert Blake High School (MD) is already regarded as one of the most complete prospects in the country. His rare combination of elite shot-making, length, and athleticism has drawn the attention of every major college program in the nation.

📈 Recruitment at an Elite Level

Oladotun’s offer list reads like a who’s who of college basketball: Kentucky, Kansas, Gonzaga, Texas, Alabama, UCLA, Louisville, Maryland, Indiana, Arkansas, and dozens more. In total, he holds over 50 Division I offers.

He has already taken unofficial visits to UCLA and USC, with upcoming trips to Maryland and Virginia Tech, and Gonzaga expected to host him this fall.

🏀 Why He’s No. 1 on High Level’s 2026 Rankings

Scouts evaluating Oladotun for the High Level Top 100 were blown away by his polished skillset for his age.

“Baba can score from anywhere on the floor — mid-range, three-point line, off the dribble, or catch-and-shoot,” said a High Level scouting director.“He’s 6-foot-8 with guard skills, plus the length to guard multiple positions. With more strength, he could be unstoppable at both ends.”

His consistency, versatility, and two-way upside were key factors in his No. 1 ranking for 2026.

🧠 Choosing the Right Fit

According to Oladotun’s father, the family’s focus is on finding a program that can both win and develop players for the NBA. They’re targeting schools with modern, up-tempo offenses and a track record of developing big guards into pros.

🚀 The Road Ahead

With his reclassification and top ranking now official, Oladotun’s recruitment will be one of the most closely watched storylines of the next year. Whoever lands him will not only be getting the No. 1 player in High Level’s 2026 rankings, but potentially a future NBA lottery pick.
